Mother's Day in the UK has traditionally been celebrated on the 4th Sunday in Lent and was originally known as Mothering Sunday. In the USA and Australia, Mother's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday in May. On this day families would pay tribute to their mother. This was a holiday for all mothers.

Mothering Sunday has strong links with the Mother Church. In the UK this year the celebration is on the 2nd March.
